Interested In Owning Your Own Mcdonald's?

McDonald's has been one of the biggest franchise business opportunities available throughout the world for decades, with its first franchise opening in 1953. And if you were interested to purchase a mcdonalds franchise you're not alone.  Throughout the United States, there are more than twenty four hundred owners of McDonald's franchises with more than 85% of their restaurants being independently owned and operated.

Many of the 2400 owner/operators have more than one franchise and have found great success in their career choice. McDonald's franchises are single owner restaurants and they do not offer franchise opportunities to partnerships as they find the best recipe for success is to have the owner involved personally in the day-to-day operations and to work closely with the staff on a constant basis.

McDonald's looks for owner/operators who have extensive business experience and that have proven their ability by successfully owning or managing several business locations or departments in the past. It is important that the individual knows how to write and implement a business plan and has a proven ability to manage business finances. The right individual will be committed to working diligently and be a vital part of the day-to-day operations of the restaurant.

The right person for a McDonald's franchise will have a good credit history and have assets and money to invest in the franchise. They will also be willing to take part in the McDonald's training program that all franchise owners must complete. Training can take anywhere from nine to twenty-four months to complete and at least twenty hours a week commitment is required.

In order to be considered for owning a McDonald's franchise the individual must have a minimum of $300,000 in liquid assets or cash, though it is recommended that they have more than this minimum requirement available to them. Partnerships or investors are not permitted. McDonald's does not offer financing to their potential owners. If a person meets the requirements mentioned above and are interested in owning and operating a McDonald's franchise then there is an on line application that can be filled out.

Once this application is submitted to McDonald's corporate offices it will be reviewed and accepted. The individual will be contacted to set up an interview to see if it is the right fit for McDonald's and for the person applying. Once the interview has taken place and both parties agree that it is a viable option there will be a three day in restaurant evaluation.

This allows the individual to see the operational practices and procedures. This helps the individual see what running a McDonald's restaurant entails and helps the interviewing panel see if the person is a proper candidate for such an opportunity. This three-day evaluation will also include a thorough review of the person's finances and qualifications to own and operate a franchise.

If everything is in order than training and other aspects of preparing for becoming a McDonald's franchise owner will be arranged. Owning a McDonald's franchise is not for everyone. It takes someone who is willing to work hard, dedicate their time, energy, and finances to making their restaurant a success and to following the procedures outlined by the McDonald's head office. It can be a rewarding and successful venture for the right person and 2400 people have built their lives on such an opportunity.
